Our Mission:
Our mission is to provide a stress free environment for our customers to
enjoy their sewing experience. We strive to provide the highest level of
service for our customers and to provide a fun and enjoyable sewing
experience and to provide the best quality products available on the
market.
Seams Sew Easy Fabrics Humble Beginnings:
In 1981 as more boys were entering the Home Economic Classes and the
availability of unisex sewing patterns were non-existent, three HOME EC
Teachers launched SEAMS SEW EASY with a chef's apron pattern. This
pattern, along with others that were later developed, was sold across the
United States to Home Economics Teachers. Even today, Home Economics
Teachers are using the patterns developed in the 1980's. With the
retirement of one of the partners, and the move of another to the
elementary grades, Nancy still kept the business going. In 2006 Nancy
approached the owner of Beach's Sew & Vac and proposed the
collaboration of SEAMS SEW EASY and BEACHS’ to open a quilt shop inside
of Beach’s – to have a store inside of a store. In April of 2006 SEAMS SEW
EASY became a quilt shop. The collaboration of Beach’s and SEAMS SEW
EASY gives the sewer all the benefits of one stop shopping.
SEAMS SEW EASY is again developing patterns for the beginner sewer.
Many of the patterns today have instructions that are too complicated and
incomplete for the inexperienced sewer. Even though Nancy has retired
from teaching, the teacher is still in her. SEAMS SEW EASY’S philosophy is
to provide a non-threatening environment for all interested in learning to
sew and to enable them to be successful.
On April 1st 2009 SEAMS SEW EASY opened the doors to a brand new
store. Because of the collaboration with Beach's; Seams Sew Easy grew
quickly. Soon the space
became too small and our customers wanted more. Nancy frantically
scouted out new store fronts and finally settled on the 2326 Mack Road
location. The new store is very roomy and has a spacious classroom. Nancy
had a vision in mind while on the hunt for the new location and with her
vision Seams Sew Easy has become a sew fantastic store that is bright and
cheerful.
